Texas Cooperative Extension -Kaufman County Master Gardeners
The Texas Cooperative Extension -Kaufman County Master Gardeners held their annual Christmas Party and installation of new officers at the home of 2006 President, Ann Trail.
Ralph Davis, Texas Cooperative Extension Agent, announced that the Master Gardeners had 3,905 volunteer and training hours in 2006. Projects included creating and maintaining areas at the Kaufman Senior Citizen Center, Genesis Center, the Crepe Myrtle project at the Law Enforcement Center, a Spring Seminar for the community held in Terrell, staffing information booths at public events in Terrell, Crandall and Kaufman, in addition to providing speakers for local community groups.

The Texas Cooperative Extension - Kaufman County Master Gardeners offer gardening advice and are available to speak to community groups on horticultural or gardening subjects. They can be reached through the Kaufman County Extension Office in Terrell at 972-563-0233. Master Gardeners work under certification through the Texas A&M system
The Kaufman County Master Gardener program is an educational and volunteer program offered by the Texas Agricultural
Extension Service of the Texas A&M University System. It is open to people of all ages, regardless of socio-economic level, race, color, sex, disability or national origin. The program is designed to increase the availability of horticultural information and extend horticultural projects throughout the community. These goals are implemented through the training and employment of local volunteers known as Master Gardeners.
The Kaufman County Master Gardener program provides invaluable training and educational opportunities. Professional and
amateur horticulturists, as well as persons simply seeking up-to-date horticultural information, can advance their gardening
expertise, and gain self-satisfaction through volunteer efforts. The volunteer aspect of the Master Gardener program allows
individuals to dedicate their time and talents to enhancing the quality of life for citizens in their community using the science and art of horticulture.
